๐Ÿง  Pro Egg Boiling Tips

Always start with boiling water. Place eggs into already-boiling water, not cold water. Cold-water starts make timing unreliable and vary more.
Ice bath immediately. As soon as time is up, transfer eggs to ice water for 2โ€“3 minutes. This stops cooking instantly and makes peeling much easier.
Don't boil at full rolling boil. A gentle, steady boil (medium heat) gives more consistent results and prevents the shell from cracking.
Older eggs peel easier. Fresh eggs from the fridge are harder to peel. Eggs that are 1โ€“2 weeks old have a larger air pocket and peel much more cleanly.
Prick the fat end. Use a pin or egg pricker on the wider end before boiling. This releases the air pocket and prevents cracking.
The grey ring means overcooked. That greenish-grey ring around the yolk is iron sulphide โ€” harmless but means the egg was cooked too long or cooled too slowly.
